Our Programs

The Healing Center Ministries Programs

We provide support services for those living within the inner city, metropolitan, and rural areas through our various outreach programs. Our goal is to assist families that may not have adequate means of getting their needs met. We provide the following services: Food Boxes, School Supplies (for Grades K-12), First Year College Student Starter Packages, Clothing Closet, Thanksgiving Turkey and Ham Dinners, and Bereavement Packages for families who have lost members due to COVID 19. We also provide care packages for the elderly and the homeless.  Choose any of our programs below to get started.

Annual Back to School Supply Giveaway

We provide school supplies to children of families with low income and who live in the rural areas. The items provided are bookbags, paper, pencils, pens, colored pencils, crayons, Kleenex, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, and composition notebooks.

First Year College Student Care Kits

We provide totes, microwaves, refrigerators, paper, pencils, pens, staplers, college ruled paper, shower curtains, twin size comforter sets, bath rugs, trash cans, washing powders, bathroom cleaners, toliet paper, and paper towels.

Elderly Care Kits

Every year we provide elderly care packages. The packages consist of household goods and cleaning supplies. We provide this to any elderly person on a fixed income over the age of 62. These items are given free of charge every year. We served over 150 elders in 2021.

Thanksgiving Turkey Baskets

We provide free food to Family Members in need living in the rural areas of Talladega County.  The baskets consist of a turkey or ham; green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, cornbread stuffing, and sweet potatoes.

Christmas for Kids

Every year we provide Christmas gifts for children in need. The families were provided an application to do a wish list of items the kids want for Christmas. We then distribute the list out to volunteers to fill the wish list of the children.

Cardioplumonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training Class

CPR is an emergency procedure that can save a person’s life if their breathing or heart stops. We offer certification classes in person. These classes provide in-person skills per session. CPR classes provide live saving techniques during each class.

Food Distribution

The food boxes contain can goods, bread, eggs, and select meats (hamburgers and sausage).  All food is donated or purchased by Healing Center Ministry.

Drug and Alcohol Recovery Seminar

We provided information on drug recovery and the benefits of an inpatient/outpatient program treatment. We also had guest speakers to provide information on recovery.

Merchandise Giveaway

We are currently involved in a merchandise giveaway. We receive goods from a major retail merchant. It consists of household essentials, electronics, clothing, shoes & accessories, appliances, office & school supplies, patio & garden, bikes, and lawn equipment. These items are given to families in need free of charge.  

Delivery Service

COVID -19 Care Kits

Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic and the number of families losing loved ones and becoming sick, we provided care packages that included juices, fruit, soups, crackers, Gatorade, and some over the counter medications. We had these packages delivered to the family homes.  

For the families that lost loved ones, we provided dinners, flowers, and monetary gifts to assist the family in making funeral arrangements.
